What RT says

THE COWBOY AND THE CADDY By Susan C. Charnley writing as Erica Arthur

Sara Anne Carson has finally reluctantly come home to Luville, Texas. Her father has had a heart attack and according to her brother is on his deathbed.  Unbeknownst to her this is far from the actual truth. Sara left ten years before to escape from her father's dominance and because she had a broken heart.

Now that Sara's back not only does she have to try to save her father's car business but she finds out that Josh McKinley, the man who broke her heart is also back.  When Sara finds out that her brother signed a binding lease with Josh for the warehouse behind the car dealership, she goes ballistic.  Can she not only save the business but can she also manage to avoid Josh and get on with her life?  Only time will tell.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this interesting book.  It had a little excitement, a little adventure and a whole lot of romance. I look forward to reading more from Susan Charnley.

THE COWBOY AND THE CADDY by Sue Charnley writing as Erica Arthur

Sara Anne Carson goes home to Luville, TX  reluctantly after 10 years, due to her father’s heart attack. She's worried about her father and the family business. Sara can run the business, and even improve on it. But her father is adamant that her brother, Donny, take it over. One problem; Donny wants only to get out of Luville. To complicate matters further, Sara's first love who hurt her,  Josh McKinley, has returned, with the old Cadillac Sara hates the sight of, for more than one reason. He has made a deal with her brother for a prize warehouse at her father‘s car dealership. Considering the ongoing hatred between the Carsons and the McKinleys, she is angry as well as confronted with past feelings, good and bad,  mixed with the defiance she felt toward Josh McKinley. Especially now that he holds the lease to Carson's warehouse, which they desperately need to accommodate a shipment of RVs that could save the business from ruin.  Sara fights for the respect of her father, the happiness of her brother, and against the feelings she still has for Josh. At first she does not realize how she still sets his heart afire, but as danger and adversity threatens, both she and Josh are more and more aware of the powerful chemistry between them. Will she let down her guard and surrender?     Ms. Charnley has crafted an entertaining story with a plot that flows nicely. Definitely a must-read for lovers of contemporary romance.

THE COWBOY AND THE CADDY by Susan Charnley writing as Erica Arthur

Sara Anne Carson left Luville, Texas after a long-standing family disagreement between the Carsons and the McKinleys ended her passionate romance with Josh McKinley.  When her father suffers a heart attack, Sara returns to her hometown to run the family's car dealership, Carson Motors. She is shocked to learn her brother has leased one of the warehouses to none other than Josh McKinley without her father's knowledge.

When a young vandal, Will, is caught at the dealership, Sara and Josh find themselves working closely together.  Josh is entrusted with the boy's care, and Sara must spend her days supervising the boy as he works to make restitution for the damages.  When Sara and Josh find themselves feeling more and more like a family, can they change past feuds and plan for a future together?

Fans of series romances will be delighted with THE COWBOY AND THE CADDY.  The shorter length makes it a quick, yet satisfying read. The story wraps up with a twist ending, but I was left wondering what would become of Will.

Sara and Josh make a sizzling couple who are given a chance to blossom, with a little matchmaking tossed in through Will's gritty, teenage character. The characters paired with light-hearted dialogue and a steady pace make the story shine.  For a cozy read, pick up a copy of THE COWBOY AND THE CADDY.

THE COWBOY AND THE CADDY by Susan Charnley writing as Erica Arthur

It's bad enough that Josh McKinley has the car, the sleek black Cadillac Orleans that serves as a constant reminder of the unhappy past, but Sara Anne Carson is furious when she learns that he's also managed to rent the warehouse space that she was depending on to expand her family's business. The warehouse belongs to the Carsons, but her brother rented it out behind her back. Sara finds herself fighting her brother - who doesn't even want Carson's Cars, her father - who doesn't think a woman can run the business, and Josh - who has plans of his own for the warehouse and a lease she can't force him to break. She's also fighting her own feelings for Josh. The Cowboy and the Caddy is an entertaining contemporary romance.
