Hope Stephenson, Reviewer for Romantic Times Magazine ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OTHER REVIEWS THE CATNAPPED LOVER by Sue Charnley, 4 stars Each year on their birth date of April First, Jack Hunter and Adam Talcott would determine which of them would be the CEO of AFD, Inc. for the next year. Since Adam was currently CEO, Jack was to decide the challenge. If Adam failed, Jack would be CEO for the next year. For the next two months Adam had to get a job and support himself. Adam could not use any of his current money, contacts, or things, such as cars, servants, and the like. He had to begin with old clothes and a beat up car. Jack could be used as a reference, but Adam would have to accept anything Jack told his potential employer and not tell anyone the truth. Rue Clancy lost her job in Detroit and decided to go to her Aunt Shea's farm to help out with the chores for awhile. She arrived to find that Aunt Shea had hired an ex-con named Adam to help with the farm work for awhile. He knew nothing about the work and had brought along a sick, stray cat that he had picked up along the way. Rue knew Shea was notorious for picking up strays (even human ones) to help them out, but Adam worried Rue. Adam had embezzled money before, and Rue intended to make sure he did not cheat her aunt! This is sure an unique plot! There are some very funny parts that will give a few chuckles and a couple of hot ones as well! There is even a mysterious sub-plot to keep the readers on their toes. Recommended! **** Reviewed by Detra Fitch, HUNTRESS BOOK REVIEWS Posted: http://www.huntressreviews.com/emodern.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THE CATNAPPED LOVER by Sue Charnley During their annual drunken birthday get together, Adam Talcott and Jack Hunter strike up an intriguing birthday dare; Jack dares Adam to get a manual job and survive without any help from his many contacts or plentiful finances for eight weeks. Adam is sure he can win the bet, so once the prize is determined, controlling stock in their joint company, Adam sets out to find a job. Fate, or rather a cat, intervenes when Adam finds an injured cat outside of Shea Doyle's animal shelter. Adam soon has a job and a place to stay, but he did not count on meeting Shea's sexy niece, Rue Clancy. Rue is having a bear of a day. First, she loses her job for being too compassionate with her clients. Then as she packs her belongings, she receives notice that the apartment complex she lives in is being shut down. She has two weeks to find a new home. Dejectedly, Rue decides to return to her Aunt Shea's home and animal shelter. She does not plan on meeting a wickedly handsome male that causes her heart to flutter. When she overhears that Adam is an embezzler, Rue knows she cannot become involved with him. Her last boyfriend was a con artist who broke her heart. There are no rules in the game of love. Soon Adam and Rue are fighting their growing desires in the hopes of staying true to their heads, not their hearts. Sometimes, the heart is not so easily convinced. The story comes to life with Adam, who may be a smart, successful businessman, but manual labor is a whole new ballgame. He shines through humorous narrative and realistic approaches to his new job. Rue lets her past overshadow her chance for a future, and quite often I found myself wishing she would get over it! The fast pace and change of pace storyline make THE CATNAPPED LOVER a fun to read hit! Be sure to look for this story along with Jack's story, DEVIL MAY CLARE. Tracy Farnsworth
